Bolly Tolly News, kolkata 2017: Sanjay Gupta (director of Kaabil ) is known as a good director but unfortunately his last movie ‘Jaazba’ was not successful in box office but I think ‘Kaabil’ will fulfill his wishes. The story is about two blind people. At the beginning we see Rohan (Hritik Roshan) is going to meet Supriya (Yami Gautam) for marriage.
At first, Supriya didn’t want to marry but then they decided to spend time together so that they can understand each other. Afterwards, they fall in love and get married. In the mean time local boy Amit (Rohit Roy) can’t control himself after meeting Supriya and rapes her. The two blind people face the darkest time. After a certain period Supriya attempts suicide and dies. Rohan gets ready for revenge. This is the basic story of ‘Kaabil’. This revenge kind of story is not new in Bollywood. But Sanjay Gupta proves that he can do it smartly and his story telling technique is fantastic. Sanjay Masoom and Vijay Kumar Mishra, two screenplay writers have written nice script and made the movie believable.
Supriya died before interval and I thought the film would not be able to hold its graph. But no, it started running with 5th gear. By using the song ‘Main tere kaabil ya tere kaabil nahi’ Rakesh Roshan (producer of ‘Kaabil’) wanted to make us understand that his son is ready to fight. After Supriya’s death Rohan prepared himself for revenge and it was not so easy for a blind man. These are the ideas used by the director-writer impressed me. Hritik and Yami have fantastic chemistry on screen. In terms of acting I want to write Hritik’s name at the top of the list. I don’t have anything to write about Ronit Roy as such. Perhaps he always chooses serious character but it suits him. His attitude, style of dialogue delivery is really appraisable. Music is fine as Rajesh Rohan is a good composer. But I think the item song was placed unnecessarily. The script has the power to hold the audience till end, no need to see Urvashi Rautela. It is very clear, the DOP and the director had a strong communication as some frames were beautiful and attracted the audience. Editing had a little problem but we can easily avoid that. Overall, it’s a movie which you should watch at the theater. 139 minutes duration is perfect for this movie. I hope it will make the producer’s wallet heavier.
