Bolly Tolly News, kolkata 16th February,2018: LUST is not a movie. In fact it is much more than a movie. It is an orgasmic union between poetry and painting. It can safely be said to be poetic Cinema. Conceived, scripted and directed by Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar, Lust is his third offering after two previous philosophical world movies, “Umformung-The Transformation” (which was released in 2016, after World Wide Festival success) and “Paradiso” (to be released in 2018). Both the previous movies were showcased in Marche Du Cannes in 2017. Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar who is known widely as a Prolific Painter, Poet and Philosopher makes movies that talks of human journey beyond borders, or caste or community. His stories are unique, timeless and one of its kind. Deeply poetic, they are food for introspection.
Lust the Cinema is no different. Shot in gorgeous Black and White, it has few note worthy attributes. The movie was shot in 2017 with a 2009 Canon 7D Camera and absolutely vintage discarded glass photographic lenses, without the aid of any artificial light. Only available light was used. An important portion of the movie was shot using iphone 6S, Filmic pro App and Ztylus lenses. The results are stunning to say the least and absolutely European in look and feel. The cinematography has been done by veteran Camera man Santanu Banerjee who weaved magic with his Camera. The music has been composed by young Musical genius Sanjib Sarkar who held the cinema in his grip with his ethereal compositions. The Title song is song by Irish Greek Actress Singer Anne – Marie O’Sullivan.
Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar treats this movie as a homage to the cinemas of Andrei Tarkovsky, Abbas Kiarostami, Bernardo Bertolucci. Lust is minimalistic cinema as well as highly provocative. It deals with sexual taboos, political taboos and holds a warning to mankind and its future for its unbridled greed. The cinema has a story teller narrating tales of past, present and future.
The movie is ready to hit global festival circuits and finely would be released in threatres in Europe and USA and Digitally worldwide. The movie produced by Rita Jhawar, of NEZ Moving Pixels who is a game changing Producer of World movies having made a plethora of movie in past 4 years, including Umformung-The Transformation and Paradiso.
