Adventure on an exotic and traditionally curated culinary journey with The Astor Hotel located at Shakespeare Sarani. The food fiesta “Udta Punjab” is all about living up to the spirit of the season and celebrating the robust and delicate flavours from the Land of Five Rivers. The menu has been layered into vast array of unique and popular combinations to sustain the originality of North-Indian cuisine.
Using the ghotna for grinding aromatic spices and the tandoor style set up are the most conventional ways of cooking Punjabi food. The hand tossed spices, home-grown delicacies, the texture and the earthy feel is kept alive in our selectively crafted ala carte menu. The restaurant is offering a truly scintillating Punjabi delight to the food lovers of Kolkata where patrons can treat themselves to delicacies like Dhingri Paneer Khurchan made out of fresh mushroom and cottage cheese with Khatta Roti, Chef Bellirams special mutton recipe Gosht Belliram with Makhmali Paratha tops the list, Keema Dal Panchratan, minced meat churned into five different kinds of lentils and roasted spices along with butter drenched Gobi or Dhania parathas make the perfect combination. The Smokey charcoal glazed Dhungar Gosht Boti kebab, Anarwali Jheenga, prawns flavoured with fresh pomegranate juice and the melt-in-the-mouth Macchi Narangi, freshly prepared fish in orange juice will give your palate a distinct and delectable taste. Iconic dishes like Patiala Di Rajma Chawal and Sarson Da Saag with Makhai Di Roti will also be available. The dessert section will leave you impressed with options like traditional Gajar ka Halwa, Jalebi Rabdi, Bada Misemai Kheer and Fruit Malpua to end with. Patrons can also enjoy the signature drinks like Mathewali Amritsari Lassi, Masala Chas, Palak Gosht ki Sorba and Lasooni Subz Sorba.

The menu consists of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare. There is no other option but to dig into the flavours of Udta Punjab from 27th January to 17th February.
