BOLLY TOLLY NEWS, Kolkata, 21st May , 2018: Payel Mitra, a young designer from New Barrackpore Township enthralled the town with a gala Fashion show. The show which was held at Purbanchal club of New Barrackpore was named as ‘Lavanyaa Sondhya, aptly named after Payel’s Boutique ‘Lavanyaa’. Exclusive ethnic collections from’ Lavanyaa Boutique’ which included Sarees, Lehengas,Punjabis, Dhuti,Sherwani, Gown and Kurtis was showcased by the models on the ramp. Choreographed by Shamim Akhter, the walk of the models garnered huge appreciation from the crowd. The biggest shout was garnered by actor and director Aditya Roy Banerjee who turned showstopper for the evening. The handsome filmmaker is known for his directorial debut ‘Its Basanto’ which also saw him playing a pivotal character in the film. The entire show was anchored by gorgeous anchor Shinjini Chakrabarty who ensured that there was no dull moment during the show. Apart from conducting the proceedings of the show smoothly, she kept on enthralling the audience with quirky one liners and witty jokes.
Payel Mitra said during the show, “I am very happy to be able to organize such a show in New Barrackpore. This is a first of its kind of show in the town and I was much tensed about how the audience will respond to it. I loved the way people responded and supported the endeavor. I hope the audience has liked my ethnic collections which I showcased today on the ramp. These collections are tailor made for the festive season. Though the festive season in quite a few months far, I wanted to give the message that my boutique has started working on it and interested people can place orders immediately. ”

The event was graced by a number of dignitaries from New Barrackpore administration. Mr Sukhen Majumdar, the Ex Chairman of New Barrackpore Municipailty and his better half Mrs Tripti Majumdar, present Chairperson of New Barrackpore Municipailty were present as chief guests. Apart from them, a host of counselors from different wards of the town were present at the show. The names included Gouri Saha, Swapna Biswas, Purnima Ray, Joygopal Bhattacharjee, Prabir Saha, Nikhil Mallo and Manoj Sarkar.
The evening also witnessed a number of dance performances by KIPP Dance institute which is helmed by ace dancer and choreographer Aditya Das. The main attraction of the dance performances was a sequence on mythological characters of Menoka and Viswamitra. Payel Mitra once again proved her versality by taking the stage as dancer and wooing the audience with her graceful moves as Menoka. Aditya Das was seen on stage as Viswamitra.
The event ended with some fabulous numbers by Heart Beat band.
About Payel Mitra and Lavanyaa Boutique: Payel Mitra though has a degree on Hospital management, chose to walk a different path, i.e. of glamour world. Payel She started her career as a model and soon realized that she has a knack for designing. That is when the idea of opening her own Boutique occurred. Her Boutique Lavanyaa is just a few months old but has got considerably popular in New Barrackpore and surrounding area. The boutique is also receiving orders from many parts of Kolkata and other places.
About showstopper Aditya Roy Banerjee: Aditya Roy Banerjee marked his debut as film director with the movie ‘It’s Basanto’ which starred popular names like Paran Bandhopadhaya, Lili Chakrabarty, Mainak Banerjee, Ritabhari Chakrabrty and Priyanka Sarkar. Aditya also showed his acting skills in the film by playing a pivotal role in it. Presently Aditya is working on a Bollywood project which stars Anupam Kher and Parineeti Chopra. He is also planning his second Bengali film tentatively titled, ‘Firey Esho Akbar’.
