Bolly Tolly News, Kolkata 16th August,2018 : The 93years Former Prime Atal Bihari Vajpayee who died at 5:05pm Capital after prolonged illness, and suffered pneumonla and multi-organ failure, doctor at All India Institude Of Medical Science (AIIMS) said this.
He was admitted in the AIIMS hospital form 11th June,2018 with a kidney tract infection, urinary tract infection, low urine output and chest congestion. He was 93. "It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 5.05 pm," the hospital said in a statement.
He was put as ECMO support on the last day.Later in the night, several leaders and ministers including Suresh Prabhu, Jitendra Singh, Harsh Vardhan and Shahnawaz Hussain visited the hospital. Earlier in the evening, Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani had visited the hospital to check on Vajpayee. Vajpayee, a diabetic, has only one functional kidney. He had suffered a stroke in 2009 that weakened his cognitive abilities. Subsequently, he developed dementia.
It is surely the ‘end of an era’ as mentioned by PM Narendra Modi. He is not only a politician but has penned several poems and is an acclaimed writer. For the last few years, he had been away from public appearances and remained at home due to illness.
