Bolly Tolly News, Friday August 18, 2018: As part of her
commitment to ethical fashion and to celebrate the third year anniversary of
her clothing label “Protha”, renowned artist Lopamudra Mitra launched a new
range of men’s wear collection called “Purush” on Friday August 17 at her Lake
Gardens boutique. Giving her company at the launch were artists Joy Sarkar and
Srikanta Acharya along with Arna Seal.
Lopamudra Mitra said, “I am very happy
to launch Purush, men’s wear collection at Protha adding to the already
existing women’s wear collection. This has been a dream come true for me
because now I feel the range is complete with something for both the genders. I
believe in our traditional weaves and the beauty of organic fabric which make
you feel connected to the earth and nature. As an artist, I love harmony in
everything that I do and my clothing label will always reflect that.”
For a man who is stylish, smart and
endorses sustainable fashion, the hand crafted and light weight collection of
shirts is a must-have in the wardrobe. “Purush” is stitched out of two kinds of
organic cotton which is eco-friendly, comfortable and promises to last for the
long run. The kala cotton shirts are in block print shirt. They are durable and
stretchable and are priced at INR 900 onwards. Kotpad cotton is a vegetable-dyed
fabric and originates from the Koraput district of Odisha. The Kotpad printed
shirts are made of handloom fabric with natural colour and costs INR 1290. The
wide variety of shirts are available in all shades and sizes starting from
medium to extra large and looks perfect on all age groups.
Joy Sarkar said, “Purush is a collection
of shirts that I would personally buy because it is very smart and can be worn
both casually and for formal occasions. The colours are vibrant and cool and I
think all men will be able to carry it. It’s also very affordable, something
which not many brands can boast of.”
Echoed Srikanta Acharya, “Lopamudra is a
very creative person and I am elated to see how she has fused aesthetics and
environment friendly elements into her new men’s wear collection, Purush. I
love all the shirts and I am definitely buying a few shirts for myself.”
With a conspicuous presence of heritage
and tradition in its collection and an attention to detail and quality, the brand
philosophy is rooted in a tradition of eclectic Indian style, taking classic
forms and adding a twist of eccentricity. “Purush” is a playful mix of prints
and colours which are unique, organic and perfectly suits the tropical climate.
